Fiordland Lodge is a luxury accomodation that I will remember forever. It’s nestled in the heart of the mountains in Fiordland overlooking Lake Te Anau and the surrounding mountains. One of my favourite things about the lodge is there is a maximum of 27 guest which makes the experience more intimate. There’s 10 luxurious rooms in the lodge itself and two seperate loft-style log cabins that are separate to the main lodge. The best part is every option has views over-looking Lake Te Anau, so no-one misses out.

Our stay here was more than just a stay, it was an experience. First off, we were greeted with a warm welcome and then shown around the beautiful lodge and what it had to offer. There’s two outdoor hot tubs and a sauna to enjoy. Breakfast and dinner is included at the lodge restaurant and the food was crazy good. Top 3 best dinners, ever!

If you are planning a trip to Milford (if you’re not, you definitely should), Te Anau is the gateway to Milford Sound. Fiordland Lodge is the perfect place to base yourself in-between your adventures.

This eco-friendly accommodation will go down in the books for the most unique stay we’ve been to so far. SkyScape has glass walls as well as a glass ceiling that allows you to view the sky without leaving the comfort of your bed. The Mackenzie Region has strict lighting conditions which reduces light pollution. For that reason, this area is known for their amazing stargazing and stellar views. If you’re lucky and get a clear night, you are in for a treat at Skyscape. With the remote location, it’s private and quiet which makes it the perfect place to unwind. There’s a hot tub to enjoy with extraordinary views of the Mackenzie country-side. It is a self-contained off-grid experience with everything you need to have a comfortable stay. Bridget and Bevan are the owners and creators of this property and they have outdone themselves, it is truly magical!

High Country Cabin is a slice of serenity and gives you all those cozy cabin vibes.  The cabin is on 10 acres located in Ben Oahu, Twizel, the alpine region in the South Island. Only 15 minutes from town Twizel, which is where you can grab any necessities you may need. From the moment we arrived, we were in awe of this perfect place. The decor, the views and overall comfort it provides, we left feeling refreshed. We had an impeccable stay, in a beautifully curated, clean and comfortable cabin with its serene surroundings.

Get the once-in-a-lifetime experience of dome living while taking in the views of Waitaki Valley. This slice of heaven is located in Waitaki Valley about an hour 40-minute drive from Mt Cook and a 2.5 hour drive from Queenstown. You are kindly set up with firewood, newspaper and pinecones to keep us toasty and left the tent smelling incredible. I could happily wake up here everyday.

Less than a minute walk from your glamping tent, there is a communal area that has all your cooking needs. In the morning, they supply you with local fruit, eggs, and fresh bread. They also have a range of teas and coffee for you to choose from, my eyes lit up. If you do get a chance, I recommend the Hot Tubs Omarama. It’s absolutely incredible, especially for sunset.
